Its low toxicity and solvent properties make it an ideal additive to loosen the bonds of, and promote the desired viscosity of skin and hair care products. Willow Bark extract (Salix alba) s a featured ingredient in our Brightening Mask because it provides a brightening, skin lightening and general anti-aging benefit.

The main ingredient credited with benefits for the skin, and anti-aging is salicin, but other salicylates as well as polyphenols, and flavonoids are also thought to contribute to Willow Bark Extract’s proven antioxidant effects as well as reductions in the appearance of pigmentary irregularities and for maintaining your skin’s youthful appearance.

Willow Bark Extract has has a history going back thousands of years, being used orally and topically for its anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, and analgesic effects. Only recently have human and animal studies have been published that confirm what natural healers have observed all that time. Studies for back and joint pain as well as  osteoarthritis have proven out the analgesic and anti-inflammatory benefits. In addition to skin care and rejuvenation, Willow Bark Extracts are also used in sports medicine, natural sports performance enhancement, and weight loss.

Yje benefit of this peptide when microchanneling or nanochanneling is it’s effect on breaking down scars and wrinkles, while facilitating production of better quality collagen.

Whenever we injure, or simulate injury to rejuvenate the skin, we are stimulating collagen production along with production of other key structures in the skin  including elastin, glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans. Copper Tripeptide 1 facilitates production of these as well as providing a significant antioxidant effect by stimulating superoxide dismutase and inhibiting the release of oxidizing iron.
