Enhanced Photofacial with DiamondTome Microdermabrasion

Our clients are getting rave reviews and increased ROI with IPL & DiamondTome (diamond microdermabrasion) enhanced photo facial. Here are some key points about enhanced fotofacial treatments WITH DiamondTome diamond microdermabrasion.

Treatment begins with DiamondTome microdermabrasion. We recommend a double cleanse, degrease, then 2 passes with the DiamondTome diamond microdermabrader. This initial exfoliation gently removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells (the stratum corneum), preparing the skin for the enhanced photofacial.

Think of the removal of the stratum corneum as “cleaning the window” before you shine the light through it.

The stratum corneum is a truly amazing design! It’s like a flexible suit of armor that resists environmental pollutants, contamination, and yes, even the penetration of light, (especially UV, but all wavelengths degrade as they pass through the stratum corneum).

Removing this layer of concave, opaque dead skin cells allows better light penetration of all wavelengths, resulting in an enhanced Photofacial. Better light penetration equals more selective photo thermolysis, and that means better results!  Enhanced fotofacial with DiamondTome diamond microdermabrasion is especially effective for acne and sun damaged skin.

Since DiamondTome is crystal free you can immediately apply contact gel after microderm and perform your fotofacial within your standard recommended parameters.

Crystal vs Crystal Free Diamond Microdermabrasion

Considering adding microdermabrasion to your skin care practice?

Notice that there are both crystal and “crystal free”  or diamond microdermabrasion machines?

Here are some important facts to consider when deciding which is best for you:

  • Crystal microderm has been around about 10 years longer that crystal free or diamond microdermabrasion, (so depending on your point of view it’s either dated, or has a longer clinical history)

Skin Lightening with DiamondTome, Glo Minerals & The HydroWand Facial

If you have clients that want skin lightening without laser or IPL, you should try DiamondTome diamond microdermabrasion followed by infusion of skin lightening products with the HydroWands. We’ve seen outstanding results infusing Glo Minerals Lightening Serum. The serum has a nice viscosity and mixes well with the Lipid Recovery Serum, (LRS from Altair, the manufacturer of DiamondTome diamond microdermabrasion and the HydroWand Facial).

For best results we recommend dry microderm with the DiamondTome, (2 passes), followed by spot application of the serum. Then mix 4 pumps of the lightening serum with about 3ml of the Lipid Recovery Serum. The skin lightening serum will be infused, and sealed deep in the skin by the LRS.
